Amesbury Public Library

On the Same Page

Celebrating Amesbury History

The Amesbury Public Library's On the Same Page project offers an opportunity to bring Amesbury residents of all ages together around the excitement of a shared reading experience, and also provides a chance to shine a light on the rich history of the community in which we live. The chosen topic of The Underground Railroad lends itself to diverse opportunities for lectures, workshops, and displays that will bring together local historians, artists, and writers to celebrate our pride in Amesbury's Abolitionist history. A host of programs and special events will take place, opening up a window on this period of history, and introducing Amesbury residents to the library's priceless special collections.

The book chosen to launch the discussion is "Redfield Farm" by Judith Redline Coopey.

Visit www.amesburylibrary.org to learn more about the exciting events scheduled for April through June!

You may pick up a free folder with event schedules, Walking Tour of Abolitionist Amesbury, and other useful information from the library or here at the bookstore.

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.
